Collecting Tail Hair

1. Only tail hair can be used for bracelets.  Mane hair is to fragile.
2. Grasp the longest hairs at the bottom of the tail.  I work from the underside of
the tail so you will not be leaving blank spots on the front of the tail.    You
will be cutting 4-6 bunches from different spots ending up with one thick ½”
bunch.
3. If you lift the longest hairs up with one hand, then with the other hand
you can pull the shorter hairs away. Separate away as many short hairs as
possible so you are only cutting the longest hair. The length needs to be as
close to 20” long as you can get so you will need to clip it close to the tail
bone.
4. If you are using tail hair from some saved from your lost friend, try and
pull out some small bunches of long hairs until you have enough to make a ½”
thick bundle. Again they need to be as close to 20” as possible.
5.Tie a rubber band around the bundle. The hair should be clean and free of tangles or
mats.   So you will need to soak it and or wash it in shampoo and rinse it until
it comes clean.   Store it after its dried in a zip-lock bag.
